Diamond Cut Forensics Audio Lab 10 includes a plethora of new features, improvements, and enhancements that make it a “must have” tool for any forensic lab.
Here are some key points:
New Auto Audio Tool – This is an important new tool. It has two independent mathematical processes that adjust in real time. One gets noise and the other gets human speech. These are then separated. This is a tool that you should try first with any audio recording because it’s quick and easy.
New Phone Noise Filter – This new tool allows you to “teach” apps what impulse noise from a cell looks like. It then searches for that beat and deletes it and replaces the beat with a nice interpolated sound. You will find this useful for varying the mobile sound picked up by a nearby recorder.
Live Spectral Editing is now available – This enables constant domain editing or translation functions. Not only can the immediate area on the spectrogram screen be reduced, but it can also be enlarged for better sounding.
New Spectrogram Function – This tool has many improvements, but still maintains its high quality and high speed. You can even browse the spectrogram while audio is playing. Now it’s a great tool for doing authenticity checks.
New DeClipper Tool – Now includes two ways to correct clipped and distorted signals. One has adjustable power and the other uses the frequency domain translation method. The result is that more distortion is removed.
New Voice Recognition Feature – Uses industry-standard techniques to let you view and categorize the speech structure of selected words, syllables, or other speech. It also shows frequency response graphs and Cepstrum graphs. It provides the necessary tools for expert analysis of speech characteristics.
New Overtone and Subharmonic Synthesizer – Allows operators to add “fidelity” to speech that is unclear or difficult to understand.
New support for Flac, Ogg Vorbis, and Broadcast Wave audio files.
Voice Garbler – This tool hides the human voice and makes it unrecognizable as a human and the process used in permanent protection is sometimes required in audio investigations where a person needs to be hidden.
Documentation – 570 page printed User Guide and detailed Help file.
