In today’s modern and latest technological era, a teacher is no longer a torch bearer only but he acts as a sculptor , entertainer, coach, manager, friend, philosopher and guide who with his specialized knowledge, skills, faculties and expertise undertakes curriculum construction, arouses the interest of students on the central issues of the subject, creates conducive environment, provides feedback, manages classroom tasks and responsibilities, broadens their horizons, changes perspective towards life and work, imbibes desirable values and equips them with necessary skills and strategies for better adjustment in their ever-changing highly mechanical society. Thus the role of 21st century teacher is more complex than before Instead of educating the young future citizens, they are to develop their Cognitive, Affective and Psychomotor domains and hence resulting in harmonious development of their personalities.
